Coverage and remaining exposure
Booked: Toyota compensation coverage waives the JPY 50,000 property and vehicle deductibles. For an eligible accident, ToCoo T.A.S. covers N.O.C. and accident-related towing up to JPY 100,000.
- Police and Toyota must be contacted, and Toyota must issue its accident report. Submit any T.A.S. reimbursement claim within 60 days after return.
- Towing may need to be paid first. Keep the towing receipt; T.A.S. covers towing only when the same incident also incurs N.O.C.
- Insurance can be denied for an unauthorized or unlicensed driver, alcohol, an unauthorized rental extension, or other rental-agreement violations.
- Flat-tire repair/replacement, hubcaps, wrong fuel, battery service, lockout/key loss, parking/traffic penalties, and prohibited-use damage remain outside T.A.S.
- If an accident makes the car unusable, Toyota says the rental ends with no refund or guaranteed replacement vehicle.
Toyota's base sheet lists N.O.C. at JPY 20,000 if the car returns under its own power or JPY 50,000 if it does not; our T.A.S. is the separate protection for that charge.

Use only if the live camera, ropeway, mountain forecast, and visitor center agree that conditions are safe that morning. The family baseline is the ropeway/Sugatami loop, not a summit.
Heavy rain, poor visibility, and recent higher-trail bear reports make this a no-plan for now. Reconsider only after a clear day-of go from the visitor center and with proper equipment.
Tokachidake is at volcanic alert Level 2 with mountain-access restrictions, so it is not the Asahidake fallback. Tokachidake Onsen and Fukiage Onsen may remain roadside options if official access stays open.
Use these as half-day or rain/low-energy moves, not as the core reason to stay.

Skye Niseko's 80 m² two-bedroom suite showed JPY 85,200 including taxes, with two bathrooms, kitchen, breakfast and onsen. The rate is non-refundable/paid online; reserve its limited paid parking before committing.
Likely the first activity to pre-book once lodging dates are fixed. Verify exact age/height/weight rules before paying.
Filipa is 120 cm, which likely clears many thresholds, but checkout rules decide. Good contrast after hiking days.
Annupuri from Goshiki Onsen is the 4-5h anchor; Iwaonupuri is the shorter volcanic option. Yotei only to stations 4-6, never the summit. Morning-of go/no-go.
The actual Hotel Hanabi stay covers Lake Toya through Jul 13. Do not add another Toya lodging block; use the short Hirafu stay for Niseko-led activities.

Hotel Torifito Otaru Canal's family bunk room showed JPY 62,017 plus final charges, no prepayment and full-cost cancellation. Parking is paid and first-come.
Central family room, public bath and 24-hour front desk for the deliberate wet-weather block.
The rugged-ocean objective remains worthwhile from Otaru, but stays wind/weather dependent.
Fruit, seafood, and the Nikka industrial story. Better as texture than a full museum day.

Hokkaido is not Kyoto. Keep culture/design high quality and opportunistic rather than making the route serve weak attractions.
Worth considering near Sapporo/CTS if timing works. These are stronger architecture-landscape candidates than Otaru Art Base.
A better cultural candidate than adding city filler, but it only fits naturally if a Shiraoi/Toya/CTS-side transfer day opens.

Buy white vinegar for the car kit and follow local/lifeguard first-aid guidance. Early jet-lag wakeups can become cool sunrise walks on the Sesoko coast.
Easy swim / reset
Use for low-friction beach time. Sesoko Beach is the easiest sanctuary if the managed swimming area, lifeguards, and jellyfish net are operating.
Aquarium / Ocean Expo anchor
Strong family anchor near Motobu. Keep Churaumi for peak heat hours or rain; pair with Ocean Expo Park, Emerald Beach, or Bise if energy allows.
Scenic / culture loop
Good half-day from Sesoko/Motobu: castle ruins plus Kouri Bridge and Kouri Island. Keep it relaxed rather than packing the day too tightly.
Water / boat day
Keep this as a planned-energy day. Minna Island is the premium short-hop option from Toguchi Port; Gorilla Chop is the shore-snorkel candidate with facilities. Check weather, ferry/boat times, and child-friendly snorkeling conditions before committing.
Yanbaru jungle / hiking
Use when the family wants a break from salt water. Hiji is the classic boardwalk waterfall walk; ASMUI/Daisekirinzan is the sacred-rock and banyan-tree option near Cape Hedo; Gesashi is the calm mangrove boardwalk/kayak option.
Rain / kids fallback
Use when beach or boat conditions are poor, or when the day needs an easier structured stop.
Long north nature day
Best as a single bigger outing, not stacked with aquarium or boat plans. Keep a weather and tiredness veto; the goal is contrast from beaches, not a forced checklist.
